Hi, I’m MagdalenaI'm an Orthodox Christian singer-songwriter. I write music about the saints, the Theotokos, and Christ, and about what it means to live the Orthodox faith in ordinary life.Most Orthodox music I have listened to is liturgical chant, which I deeply love. But in my own life, I have also found myself longing for songs that could accompany the everyday parts of the Christian life—songs that make space for both its beauty and its struggle. My hope is that my music can be played at home, or on a drive, or during a quiet moment, or with your children.If you’ve found your way here, welcome! At the heart of what I’m trying to do is make music that feels rooted in the ancient life of the Church while still feeling natural and alive in the lives of Christians today.
Support my upcoming Album
My first album (coming this Lent) is a musical journey through Holy Week. It has nine songs, one for each day, beginning with Lazarus Saturday and leading through the Passion and death of Christ to the joy of Pascha. I wrote the album as a way of entering more deeply into the story we return to every year, and I hope it can help other people do the same.If this project speaks to you, I would be honored to have you be part of it!
